NODC July 4 Parade

  • Please join us in the Clarkston Independence Day Parade we start at St. Daniel Church parking lot, 7010 Valley Park Dr and end at Renaissance High School 6558 Waldon Rd. (1 mile). Help us support candidates, hand out candy, and have a great time!  A = St. Daniel Church, D= Renaissance HS, parking at Clarkston Elementary School 6589 Waldon Rd Clarkston, MI 48346l, across from Renaissance HS
  •  At 2:45 pm (appox.) please join us a Clintonwood Park and walk with Mark Schauer as he greets voters and talks about his campaign for Governor!  We will meet in the parking lot of Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Rd, Clarkston, Michigan 48348

NODC July 2014 Mtg

  • Next NODC meeting, Wed, July 16 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Italia Gardens 1076 S Lapeer Rd, Oxford Charter Township, MI 48371 (just south of Drahner Rd).  Guest speakers include Frank Houston - Chair, Oakland County Democratic Party, Ken Thomas candidate MI House District 51, and Joanna VanRaaphorst – candidate MI House Dist. 45.  Please bring canned and packaged foods for the Oxford/Orion FISH food pantry.  Candidates welcome!

 

  •  There is still time to become a write-in candidate for Precinct Delegate!  Download and print this form and take it to your Township (or City) Clerk before August 1.  The election is August 4 at your local precinct.  You may be able to write yourself in as Precinct Delegate!  Let your precinct friends know but if there is an opening, you can pretty much elect yourself.  Don’t know your precinct?  Check it out here:  https://webapps.sos.state.mi.us/mivote/

NODC June Events – Mark your calenders

There are a number of events which you are invited to, please attend and get to know fellow Democrats in North Oakland County better!

Now is the time to join or renew your membership with the NODC, if you haven’t already.

There are a number of events in Oakland County that may be of interest to you, they are listed farther down in this email.

Saturday, June 13: 10 AM to Noon – the 8th Congressional District Committee will meet at the Brandon Township Library, 304 South St, Ortonville, MI. Join us as we discuss social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter and the 2010 election. This meeting rotates between the five counties of in the 8th District, so this is the meeting closest to you!

Wednesday, June 17: our Holly area Meetup, meet State Senate District 15 Candidate Pam Jackson and OCDP Political Director Jason Bauer. 6:00 pm – 7:45 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Holly Township Library, 1116 N Saginaw St, Holly, MI

Thursday, June 18: our Watershed Forum, a panel discussion cosponsored with the Clinton River Watershed Council.
6:30 PM to 8:45 PM, at the Orion Township Library, 825 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion.

Saturday, July 4th: 9 AM to 11 AM – Join us in the 4th of July Parade in Clarkston! Walk a mile in our shoes and support our club. The parade is a lot of fun. Help us hand out candy to kids along the one mile parade route. After the parade, join us at Clintonwood Park in Independence Twp for the annual Festival of Fun. Community Conversation with Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper

The next meeting of the North Oakland Democratic Club will be at the Orion Township Library, Thursday May 21, 7 PM. The Orion Library is located at 825 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion.

Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper will discuss current activities of the Prosecutor’s Office since January of this year.

Oakland County Democratic Party (OCDP) Chair Michael McGuinness will discuss activities of the County Party.

Janis Ripple, will provide a brief review of the Oakland County Democratic Party Healthcare Platform and Advocacy campaign for repealing Michigan’s Drug Industry Immunity laws.
