NODC: November Phonebank!

I am so proud of the NODC’s Project 83 efforts and of our members, old and new, that have stepped up to the plate. We are fighting to win back North Oakland and it’s going to require everyone’s help. So if you have had enough of the madness, like REALLY are just over it, please join us as we endeavor to turn this ship around. We have such impressive, accomplished candidates and causes.  Let’s help get them elected!

NODC: November Canvass!

Please join the NODC team for our November canvass with special guest, Elissa Slotkin!  I know I am a broken record, but this is what we need to do if we want to turn North Oakland blue.   • Wed. Oct. 18 6:30 – 8:30 pm – Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen 54 S Main St., Clarkston MI 48346 –  NODC Membership meeting.  Please join us as we hear from former MDP Chair, Attorney Mark Brewer about the status of the legal case to fight the Michigan ban on straight-ticket voting.  In 2016 there was a court stay blocking the implementation of the legislative ban on straight-ticket voting, but the law was not overturned.  Also speaking is Bill Cobbs, candidate for Governor in 2018.  Please bring canned and packaged food donations for Oxford/Orion FISH Food Pantry.

  • Project 83 Canvass – It’s that time again! The NODC NEEDS you! For that matter, the world needs you! We need to take control in 2018. It is really non-negotiable. The only way we are going to do this in our gerrymandered state that we love is with all boots on the ground at every possible opportunity. I know we are tired. We have to keep pushing. We have so many amazing, truly impressive candidates and causes. THIS is what is going to help them win come 2018. Please join us! We will start and end at McDonald’s. RSVP at dawn.jaggers@gmail.com. April 2017 Events

When: April 19th at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Clarkston Union Basement

Come and join us for our April meeting! Our speakers will include Charles Gaba, described by Mother Jones as the “go-to guy for Obamacare enrollment” and by the LA Times as the “indispensable tracker of ACA rates and policies”.

Ken Fouty, the Community Outreach Coordinator for Lutheran Social Services of Michigan will discuss his agency’s role in assisting refugees.

Emily Duthinh will be speaking to us about the Indivisible group’s efforts to support local, undocumented workers who are being unjustly harassed and deported because of Trump’s xenophobic immigration policies and how you can be involved. Hope to see you there!

Please bring canned and non-perishable food items for donation to Oxford/Orion FISH food pantry.

Please join us for our monthly meeting to discuss local and statewide activism efforts and opportunities. Our speakers will include Lisa Kiefer of Count MI Vote to discuss redistricting efforts and how we can be involved, Rebecca Gray of the Michigan’s People Campaign to discuss training for safe and effective protesting, Courtney Harrison of the Women’s March on Washington-Michigan to discuss opportunities for action and Nicole Breadon, co-chair of North Oakland Indivisible Team to discuss upcoming events. If you have any events you would like to talk to the club about, please come and share them with us!

Please bring canned and non-perishable packaged foods for the Oxford/Orion FISH food pantry.

Don’t forget to join or renew your NODC membership. You can do this at the meeting and, as you know, we need all hands on deck!
