The North Oakland Democratic Club typically meets on the third Wednesday of the month, speakers usually begin at 7:00 pm

Wed. July 17, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm – NODC  July meeting at C-Pub (a.k.a. Clansman Gaelic Pub) at Canterbury Village 2369 Joslyn Court Lake Orion, MI 48360.
July will be our “Call to Action” meeting, where leadership from the Michigan Democratic Party and Oakland County Democratic Party are invited.

NODC Adopts Brown Rd in Orion Twp

Sat. July 20, 8:30 am to 10:30 am NODC Adopt-A-Road pickup on Brown Rd, between Joslyn and Baldwin in Lake Orion.
We will meet at the Costco parking lot (400 Brown Rd), and will likely stop someplace for brunch afterward.
More hands make the work go faster!  Please bring a pair of work gloves and sturdy shoes for this activity.
We will have safety vests, “picking” sticks and trash bags.

 

 

 

NODC Clarkston ParadeThurs. July 4th, 9:00 am to noon – Clarkston Independence Day parade. Please join us as we walk again in this year’s 4th of July parade in Clarkston.

We will begin at St. Daniel Church parking lot (Miller St at Holcomb). The parade begins at 10 a.m., and ends before noon at Clarkston Community Ed. parking lot (parade is about 1 mile long).

The best bet is to park where the parade ends (where there is plenty of parking) and walk to where the parade begins (where there is no parking). We need help with banners, signs, and handing out candy.

  • Clarkston Labor Day Parade

The parade will begin at Renaissance High School (Clarkston Community School’s alternative education building) at 6300 Church St., across from Clarkston Elementary located at 6558 Waldon Rd. at 10:00 AM sharp and proceed down Church St., north on Main St. through downtown Clarkston, turning left on Miller Rd. The parade will end before reaching St. Daniel Catholic Church on Holcomb Rd.   Please arrive early and enjoy the friendship.  Walk with County-wide, State, and local candidates!

 DNC Convention Watch Party Thurs. Sept. 6th

Just as the Republicans have held their convention, we too are scheduled to hold a convention — except livelier. We are hosting a watch party for the Democratic National Convention, scheduled for the upcoming Thursday on the 6th and Francine Melotti has offered to host the event at her place. Stop by, bring along the family and friends for some food, drinks and show!

Main St. Clarkston, MI 48346(M/C room downstairs).  Tracy Jensen to speak on the Michigan Supreme Court Race, Steve Losey, candidate for House District 51 (including Holly, Rose, and Groveland Townships).
  • Sat. Sept. 22nd 10 am to 5 pm, Septemberfest, Ortonville MI – come join us as we represent the Democratic Party and our slate of candidates in Brandon Township.
  • Sun. Sept. 23rd Noon to 6 pm, Taste of Clarkston, Clarkston, MI   – come join as we we represent the Democratic Party and our slate of candidates in Independence Township.
  • Sat. Sept. 29 9 am to 11 am, Adopt-A-Road, Brown Rd between Joslyn Rd and Baldwin Rd in Lake Orion.  We will meet in the Costco parking lot at 400 Brown Rd.  Please bring sturdy shoes and work gloves, we will provide safety vests, trash bags, and “pick-up sticks”.

You might want to park at the parade finish, Clarkston Community Ed (parking lot), 6558 Waldon Rd, Clarkston, MI and walk to St. Daniels (1 mile away)

  • July 9th – Sat. 9:30 a.m. to Noon , Adopt-A-Road – Brown Rd, between Baldwin Rd and Joslyn Rd – Meet at Costco parking lot (NE corner) This is our second pickup of the year, your assistance would be most helpful as many hands makes the job go faster!  Please bring work gloves and a sturdy pair of shoes, the NODC will provide trash bags, safety vests, and pick-up sticks.  Afterword we expect to go to Applebee’s for brunch, so it should be a fun event.  Rain date will be Saturday, July 16 at the same time.
  • July 20th – Wed. 6:30 to 8:30 pm – NODC July meeting at Red Knapps Oxford, 2 N Washington St, Oxford Michigan.  Our special guest will be Stephen Henderson, Editorial Page Editor and Writer for the Detroit Free Press
