  • Sat. Aug. 4 10:00 am to 5 pm Celebrate Oxford – Business Expo Tent on E. Burdick St. at Washington St.  Join us at our table or drop by while you are there!

 

  • Fri. Aug 3, 4:00 pm  Deadline to file with your township clerk as a Precinct Delegate Write-In Candidate

 

  • Tues. Aug 7 – Michigan Primary
  • Sat. Aug 18  11 am to 1:00 pm – The “Oakland 8th District” County Convention will be held at the C-Pub (a.k.a. Clansman Gaelic Pub) at Canterbury village, 2325 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360
    • We will be in the meeting room upstairs from the main floor.
    •  Credentials from 11:00 am to 11:45 am
    • Convention from noon to 1 pm
    •  We will elect 1 female delegate to the Credentials Committee and 1 male alternate to the Platform and Resolution Committee (see details below).
    • We will also discuss and approve any resolutions submitted to the committee (please submit any potential resolutions in advance to Phil Reid

     

    County  conventions will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in preparation for the MDP State Convention on Sun. Sep. 9th at the Lansing Center
    State Convention Committees will meet as follows:

    The committee will meet at the call of the chair of the MDP at the convention if necessary

    The purpose of the convention are to 1) elect members and alternates of State Convention Committees and 2) consider resolutions for forwarding to the State Convention Platform Committee.

MDP Presidential Caucus Saturday May 5th, voting will begin shortly after 11 am.  You must be registered before 11 am, doors open after 9 am.

There will be an opportunity for candidates, and campaigns to speak to the group.

To participate in the Caucus, and If you live in Addison, Oxford, Orion, or Brandon Townships, you must go to UAW 5960, 180 E. Silverbell Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360.

If you live in Holly, Groveland, Rose, Springfield, or Independence Townships, you must go to the Independence Twp, Fire Station #1, 6500 Citation Dr, Clarkston, MI 48346.  There is parking available at the First Baptist Church of Clarkston which is adjacent to fire station parking lot.  Use the building entrance at the back of the building, which leads directly to the Training Room.

October 2, Adopt-A-Road Canceled due to rain.   No rain date planned for this month. SPRING Clean Up is a MUST as it’s the worst and need to get out before the mowers.

October 16, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm The Villager Restaurant, 1121 N Saginaw St # 7, Holly, MI 48442-1380 – Meet and Greet Pam Jackson (candidate for MI Senate District 15), and Lance Enderle (Candidate for U.S. Congress, MI District 8).  After the meeting, some of us will go out and knock doors for these candidates in the Holly area.  You can order food and beverage off of the menu when you arrive and during the meeting.   This is also a low-dollar fundraiser (suggested amount is $20 or more), proceeds to be donated to these candidates.

October 20, The Clansman Gaelic Pub, 2325 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Invited speakers, Pam Jackson, Paula Zelenko, and Casandra Ulbrich – candidates for Senate Districts 15, 26, and 12).

October 29, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm - House Party and Fundraiser for Lance Enderle, our candidate for Congress, 8th District!  At the home of Shelley Hirth, 7140 Dark lake Dr, Clarkston, 48346 Food and beverages provided.  Pay what you can afford, but please plan to attend to show your support.

September 6, Labor Day Parade, Clarkston, MI 48346 9 am – noon, park at Clarkston Junior High School 6595 Waldon Rd, Clarkston, MI 48346.  Parade Starts at Clarkston Renaissance High School, 6558 Waldon Rd, ends on Miller Rd, west of Main St.

September 6, Clarkston, MI 48346 Birthday Party and Fundraiser for Casandra Ulbrich noon to 2 pm.  At the home of Shelley Hirth, 7140 Dark Lake Dr – only a few blocks from where the Labor Day Parade ends!  Suggested donation is $25.

September 16, Red Knapp’s, Mtg. Rm, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, 6722 Dixie Hwy, Clarkston, MI 48346 (Speakers Matthew Clark for David Leyton, Kevin Hrit for Jocelyn Benson, Paula Zelenko, candidate for Senate Dist. 26, Richard Lyon for MCC Waterford, Melissa Bernardi for MCC Pontiac)

September 25, Septemberfest, Ortonville, MI 48462  10 AM to 5 PM, South St, and Mill St.  The NODC will be supporting our Democratic Party candidates, including Paula Zelenko for State Senate (Dist. 26)

September 26, Taste of Clarkston, W Washington St at S. Main St, Clarkston, MI 48346  noon – 6 PM – This is a huge event, typically 10,000 people show up on Main St!  Join us as we support our Democratic Party candidates!
