North Oakland Dems: Meeting and Action Opportunitities

Dear North Oakland Dems:

*Our monthly meeting will take place this Wednesday, 8/23/06, 7pm at the Brandon Township Library (304 South Street, Ortonville, Michigan). Agenda items will include candidate presentations and sign-up for specific volunteer opportunities in the next month.

*The Marcinkowski campaign has rolled out a new phone banking system that will allow you to make automated voter outreach calls from your own home, for free, using a broadband connection. This system will allow you to help the campaign from the comfort of your own home. Bruce Fealk, the campaign’s Oakland Field Director, will have a brief presentation and training sign-up dates available at our meeting. Bruce will also discuss the Marcinkowski campaign’s soon-to-be-open Clarkston field office.

*Also mark your calendars:

Saturday, 9/9/06, Morning — Walk with the North Oakland Dems and Dem Candidates in Holly’s Carry Nation Parade.

Wednesday, 9/20/06, 7pm — Next NODC Meeting at the Brandon Township Library.

NODC Upcoming Events

North Oakland Dems:
The NODC had a great showing at the Clarkston Independence Day Parade, along with the Orion Area Democratic Club and Jim Marcinkowski, candidate for the 8th Congressional District.
There are now less than 4 months until election day.  If you have been waiting to get back involved in the North Oakland Club, the time is now.  Here are some great opportunities for grassroots action in the coming weeks!
*ATTEND our regular meeting on July 19, 6:30p
*BECOME a precinct captain for your voting precinct by contacting me at this e-mail address.
*STAFF the Dems booth at the Oakland County Fair from July 25-30th.  Candidates Jim Marcinkowski, Deb Cherry and Mark Venie will all have significant presences at the booth.  Please let me know if you are able to cover a shift during this period.
*WALK door-to-door for Deb Cherry in Waterford (an important target area of her campaign) on multiple days in July.  More information can be found at debcherry.com or by contacting Deb’s campaign manager, Amanda Sova, at amandasova@gmail.com or 810-953-3601

March Meeting of North Oakland Democrats

The next meeting of the North Oakland Democratic Club will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 7pm at the Brandon Township Library (304 South Street, Ortonville, Michigan 48462).

We have an exciting agenda planned, including:
*update and planning on the minimum wage petition drive.
*assistance to the Governor with nominating petitions.
*potential candidate visits.
