June 12, Michigan Summit:  Blueprint for Change, Registration will begin at 8:00 AM on June 12, and the first session will start at 9:00AM. is being held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing, is about rebuilding Michigan with visionary ideas and people power from the ground up.  Frustrated with the slow pace of change and political gridlock?  2010 Michigan Summit is the place where democracy will come alive as Michiganders join to create the change Michigan needs.

July 10, Adopt-A-Road, Brown Rd between Baldwin and Joslyn, 8:30 am and 11:30 am, Orion Twp, 48359.  We will meet at the Costco parking lot (northeast corner).

July 17, Strawberry Festival Parade (and Festival) – Leonard in Addison Twp.  11 am – 5 pm we will be in Leonard for the annual Addison Twp Strawberry Festival.   We will have a booth at the annual street fair on E. Elmwood St, Our candidate for Senate District 12, Casanda Ulbrich, will be in the parade, and our club plans to join her in the parade (which is less than 1/2 mile long).   We will have candy to hand out to children (and some adults), and we will be there to show our support. Please join us! The parade starts at noon (please arrive by 11 am) at Leonard Elementary School (335 E Elmwood) and ends at Forest St (Rochester Rd)

July 25, OCDP Phil Hart Dinner, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Troy Marriott 200 West Big Beaver Road Troy, MI 48084), Keynote speaker, former Senator and candidate for President, George McGovern, Senator Carl Levin, Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congressman Carl Levin and other guests.

August 7, 2nd Annual Obama Birthday Bash in Troy at Firefighters Park, 1800 W Square Lake Rd. Join the OCDP for their annual summer picnic to celebrate President Obama’s birthday.  Fun, games, food and Democrats. $20 contribution per person.

Aug. 12 Thurs. 6 pm to 8 pm Fundraiser for Mike McGuinness and Phil Reid at the home of Shelley Hirth, 7140 Dark Lake Dr, Clarkston, MI 48346 (for information contact the Oakland County Democratic Party 248-584-0510.

August 14, Congressional/County Convention,  Oakland County Commissioner’s Auditorium (Arron/Pernick Conference Room) 9:00 am registration, meeting 10 am to noon.

August 21, 4 – 9 pm Fundraiser/House Party/Picnic at Miller Home, Oxford, MI 48371 $10 adults, $5 children bring a dish to pass, hamburgers, hotdogs, soft drinks and water provided by the club.

August 28 -29th, Michigan Democratic Party Nominating Convention, Cobo Hall Detroit, MI  8 am to 6 pm.

September 6, Labor Day Parade, Clarkston, MI 48346 9 am – noon, park at Clarkston Junior High School 6595 Waldon Rd, Clarkston, MI 48346.  Parade Starts at Clarkston Renaissance High School, 6558 Waldon Rd, ends on Miller Rd, west of Main St.

September 6, Clarkston, MI 48346 Birthday Party and Fundraiser for Casandra Ulbrich noon to 2 pm.  At the home of Shelley Hirth, 7140 Dark Lake Dr – only a few blocks from where the Labor Day Parade ends!  Suggested donation is $25.

September 11, Barn Daze, Orion Twp, Friendship Park (Corner of Clarkston and Balwin Rd, entrance off of Clarkston Rd) 11 am – 5 pm.  This is a great family event, and the NODC will be there to support our Democratic Party candidates, including Casandra Ulbrich for State Senate (Dist 12)!
